Global Warming - What Is Being Done About It

There is great debate on whether or not man is helping the warmer climate change that is currently affecting the world. Some politicians say it is nothing but a scare tactic to move to more eco-friendly methods of energy (as oppose to the normal red diesel and fossil fuels). Others claim it is a real problem, one that we attribute to each day with the strategies we use to live on the planet. Regardless of the amount of impact we have on the issue of global warming, it seems fitting that we should implement policies that will eliminate the effects we may potentially have on the climate.
The government has been doing some of its part to help slow global warming. They have applied restrictions to companies and industries that pollute the Earth. There are restrictions to the emissions that can be expelled into the atmosphere from factories and plants, and penalties for the businesses that fail to follow these rules. The government also offers tax incentives for consumers who purchase hybrid or electric vehicles. They also have perks for those that make their home more energy efficient.
There are several “no regret” policy ideas floating around that could help to protect the environment without it being too costly for the government. This would allow us to reduce our usage of the Earth’s resources in the event that we are contributing to global warming. We could do this without spending a large sum of money on something that may not be indirectly caused by our actions. Redesigning the systems of air traffic to reduce the amount of fuel used on each flight is just one way to reduce our consumption. Switching to green energy use in our homes is another method for preventing the pollution that may be harming our world’s climate.
